Biography

Dean F. Wilson was born in 1987 in Dublin, Ireland. From an early age he showed an aptitude for art and writing, which was encouraged by teachers and family.

Dean started writing in early 1999 when he was just 11 years old, and he completed his first novel the following year at age 12. This unpublished work (entitled "The Power Source") was a mix of fantasy and science fiction, and allowed Dean to develop his skills in writing in general, but also helped to establish the neccessary discipline for writing novels. This novel started as a short film script, which he hoped would be made into a movie. "The Power Source" earned him a Trinity College Educational Award (TAP) in 2001.

Over the next few years Dean wrote several more novels, though failed to complete most of them, as he was drawn to new story ideas. He also began writing poetry and short stories, some of which earned him further recognition in school as an aspiring writer.

In 2002 he began work on the first book of the "Protos Mythos" series, but it was a humble beginning with no expectations for what would follow. He spent the next five years, on and off, writing various versions of the story, starting with (for example), Herr'Don as the main character and Ifferon as a minor character. The entire novel was written and scrapped several times before he began working on the final version in late 2004 (by this time there were eight complete revisions).

In 2007 he sent his first work out to various magazines (print and online) for publication. Over the following twelve months he managed to sell a number of poems and short stories for publication (see "Works" for more details). He also spent this year working on the final draft, revisions, and edits of book one of the "Protos Mythos" series, and is planning to send the work off to various agents in 2008. With some luck and hard work, the first book will hopefully be out by 2009.

More info will be added soon.
